The Ins and Outs of Academic Accommodations for Students

Many instructors and staff have questions about the accommodation process and how best to support students with accommodations.  In this session, Student Accessibility Services (SAS) will outline the primary reasons students have academic accommodations, and the process students should follow to request accommodations, and will provide some concrete strategies instructors can use to support students with accommodations.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the key features for the University’s Student Accommodation policy;
  2. Communicate the appropriate steps students should undertake to register with SAS; and
  3. Undertake strategies to support students with accommodations

This workshop is offered to support the vision and work of the campus mental health strategy teaching and learning subcommittee
