Hands on Experience of OER Licensing at the Postsecondary Level

This workshop will enhance the understanding of Open Educational Resources (OER) and its licensing systems for graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, academic staff and research staff at the University of Calgary. It directly relates to OER adoption/adaptation and/or creation and how it benefits the community.

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of OER

  2. Understand the licensing issues of OER materials

  3. Adopt/adapt/create OER challenges experienced by academics

The University of Calgary started the Open Educational Resource (OER) project in July 2017. We are one of the major stakeholders of this project as an advocacy group. This session will certainly help the young scientists, researchers, postdoctoral scholars, academic staff, and graduate students to know more about the project and how they can get involved in it.
