Cross/intercultural competencies and intercultural effectiveness are terms frequently used when referring to understanding and effectively engaging with people from other cultures and perspectives and practices different from our own. Being open to engaging with differences brings both opportunities and challenges. What are some of the tensions we experience? In this session, and drawing from a reflective process, we will explore some of these tensions and how we might take them up as a pathway – an opportunity to achieve a deeper level of awareness, understanding, and engagement with cultural differences.
