Blended Instructional Skills Workshop

Explore teaching concepts, build on your existing abilities and practice new teaching approaches through face-to-face and online instruction, theory applications and peer discussion in this four-day workshop. You'll also actively practice teaching and give and receive feedback in a supportive environment. The Instructional Skills Workshop is designed for university faculty members and staff, sessional instructors, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students seeking to reflect on their practice and sharpen their skills.

The ISW provides participants with a structured, evidence-informed approach to planning and delivering classes.

  • Sessions on key teaching and learning topics include:
    1. Questioning skills
    2. Learning outcomes
    3. Active learning
    4. Learning environment
  • You will be required to teach three short lessons and give and receive constructive feedback
  • Please be aware that it is important that you participate in all four half days of the face-to-face program and complete the online activities prior to each in-class session.

For more information, please visit our ISW web page.
