Celebrating Stampede 2016

Our role in the Calgary Stampede Story

We play many roles in the Calgary Stampede story. Below are just a few of our rich and varied connections:

  • Veterinary Medicine scientists provide critical advice and innovative research to ensure animal-care practices are cutting edge.
  • Our researchers provide insight into midway rides and food, as well as how to prevent rodeo injuries.
  • Historians and experts in Faculty of Arts have written the book on the Calgary Stampede and teach a course on it each year.
  • UCalgary alumni are everywhere - from Stampede royalty, to senior executives, to the army of dedicated volunteers.
