The Order of the University of Calgary honours worthy recipients who have a record of exemplary and distinguished service to the University. It is available to any member of the University community, those currently or formerly attached to the University and to those representing the University in the community. Candidates nominated for membership in the Order may include, but are not limited to, current or former faculty, staff, alumni and volunteers.
About the OTUC Award:
The award was developed in 1994 as a result of a suggestion which came forward from Senate. The Chancellor of the day was David Smith and he was instrumental in bringing forward this idea to the university.
It was thought that such an award would help to fill a perceived gap in recognition awards at the U of C, particularly for outstanding service to the university by any member of the university community.
Nominations are accepted year round.
