Applications for single student housing open on December 10 of every year for the upcoming:

Family Housing applications are accepted anytime. You do not have to be affiliated with the university to complete an application, but you will have to be a student, faculty or staff member before you are offered a unit in Family Housing.

Whether you're a high school student attending university for the first time, a returning University of Calgary student, a transfer student from another institution, an international student, or applying for Family Housing, applications are completed online through the Residence Portal.

An advance payment is made to secure your room and is due on the date specified on your Offer of Residence. The deadline for paying the balance is on the same day tuition fees are due for the term.

First year students are assigned an available room and can request to be entered into the lottery for one of the limited number of single rooms. Students living in apartments are able to use the online room selection option to choose their room.
There are a limited number of townhouse units available for Family Housing, therefore, room selection is not offered. Units are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is currently a wait list.

You can request roommates on your application in the Roommate Preferences section. To be placed with a roommate, both students must mutually request each other on the application.
Search for roommates by details - enter your friend's screen name to find them in the system and make the request.
Browse for matching roommates - complete the Personal Details questionnaire and the system will present profiles the most closely match yours. Choose someone and they will receive an email asking if they would like to accept your request.
