When to apply
Applications for single student housing open on Dec. 10 every year for the upcoming school year:
Family Housing applications are accepted anytime. You do not have to be affiliated with the university to complete an application, but you must be a full-time student in a degree program before you are offered a unit in Family Housing.
How to apply
Whether you're a high school student attending university for the first time, a returning University of Calgary student, a transfer student from another institution, an international student, or applying for Family Housing, applications are completed online through the Resident Portal.
Paying for your room
An advance payment is made to secure your room and is due on the date specified on your Offer of Residence. The deadline for paying the balance is on the same day tuition fees are due for the term.
Choosing a room
First-year students are assigned an available room and can request to be entered into the lottery for one of the limited number of single rooms. Students living in apartments are able to use the online room selection option to choose their room.
Finding a roommate
You can request roommates on your application in the Roommate Preferences section. To be placed with a roommate, both students must mutually request each other on the application.
