Find your research passion

As one of Canada's leading research universities, the University of Calgary is home to a number of world-class research facilities to support the work of scientists and students. Innovation, discovery and learning is at the heart of all that we do. Our students demand—and deserve—that we offer a different education than that of more traditional institutions. And we promise our students access to leading researchers and faculty, the best technology and laboratories, and excellence in learning and teaching resources.

As an undergraduate student, you have opportunities to get a head start in helping to solve the challenging and complex problems that face society today. You can connect your passions to local, national or international issues and contribute with the different kind of thinking that is required to solve them.

You have the chance to work with researchers who are making breakthroughs in biomedical engineering technologies, energy and the environment, public policy and more. You can even explore your own self-directed research.

At the University of Calgary, research takes on an inter-disciplinary approach. Many research problems require the combined perspectives of multiple disciplines. You will learn from experts outside of your discipline how to recognize all the different parts to a problem and how to chart a path toward a solution.

Get ready to take on the world. Find a research opportunity that suits you.
