The Institutional Research Information Services Solution (IRISS) is an online program being implemented to give researchers and their teams an automated workflow when applying for certifications necessary to conduct research,and provides consistency and compliance for audit reporting, regulatory bodies and funding agencies.
IRISS has many benefits: The online process is always available, secure and paperless. Building on the success of peer institutions the U of C worked with an industry leader in providing solutions for the business of research to modernize our system. IRISS reduces the administrative work load for applying for ethics certification, supports efficiencies for the review boards, and ensure institutional compliance with Tri Council guidelines.

The IRISS is the result of the Research Services' Compliance Team and Information Technology working together with the support of the Vice President (Research). This service meets many needs for the University of Calgary's research community. Through consulting and listening to business needs IRISS responds to:
