Graduands must wear appropriate regalia to participate in Convocation ceremonies. Reserve your gown and hood by submitting a payment through the Convocation Status page, in your MyUofC.
Wearing Your Regalia: Undergraduate/Masters
The gowns provided have been sized to fit based upon the information you submitted through your online MyUofC.
Undergraduate/Master caps are worn squarely on the head with the tassel to the left, and the deep seat of the crown at the back.
Wearing Your Regalia: PhD/EDD
PhD/EDD John Knox caps will be adjusted for the graduate when they pick up their regalia.
Volunteers will show you how to hold the hood properly until the graduate is presented on stage. PhD/EDD students are hooded on stage.
The convocation ceremony is a traditional and formal event. Personal belongings and ornamentation are not permitted, including but not limited to:
No facilities exist for checking these items; arrangements should be made prior to the ceremony for storage of valuables. The university will not be held responsible for the loss or theft of any valuables.
Unstaffed coat checks will be set up on the running track of the Jack Simpson Gymnasium.
All students must go to the Graduand Meeting Point before their ceremony.

Return of Regalia
Gowns must be returned to the Graduand Meeting Point after your convocation ceremony. Returns will be accepted until 6:00 PM.
Undergraduate and Master students are welcomed to keep their cap as a souvenir.
PhD/EDD graduates must return their full regalia (including the John Knox cap); a souvenir cap will be provided in its place.
