The University of Calgary offers competitive and nominated awards and bursaries to students who are currently or will be enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

Eligibility: These awards are for students in the Faculty of Medicine Doctor of Medicine (MD) program only.
Students entering the Bachelor of Health Sciences program (admitted on the basis of their high school grades) are not eligible for Faculty of Medicine Awards but are eligible to apply for Chancellor's Club Scholarships or Awards for International Students, and High School Awards. Students continuing in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program are not eligible for Faculty of Medicine Awards but are eligible to apply for Competitive Undergraduate Awards.
Faculty of Medicine Differential Tuition Bursaries are only tenable to students who pay the mandatory differential tuition fees. These bursaries are conditional upon recipients being admitted to and registered in the Faculty of Medicine MD Program. The selection for these bursaries is based upon financial need.
Faculty of Medicine Bursaries are conditional upon recipients being admitted to and registered in the Faculty of Medicine MD Program.
In order that awards may be equitably distributed, no student may normally hold more than one major award in any one year. Once in the program, students must have successfully completed the previous year in order to be eligible for an award.

Requirements: The payment of monetary awards, with the exception of certain prizes and graduating scholarships, is contingent upon the student maintaining full-time status in the immediate Fall and Winter terms. Unless otherwise stated in the conditions, the recipient must be in actual full-time attendance at the University of Calgary before receiving the awards. Payment of tuition and fees is the first charge against such awards. If the value of an award is stated as "tuition and fees", it is understood not to include differential fees. Supplemental, deferred and special deferred examinations or term work may affect eligibility for certain awards.

• Application: The Faculty of Medicine Online Application is available mid-February in the Student Center through the myUofC portal. By submitting this application students will be considered for all Faculty of Medicine Awards and Bursaries, including the Differential Tuition Bursaries. Nominated Medicine Awards do not require an application as nomination is made automatically by the faculty.
• Deadline: Submit the Faculty of Medicine Online Application on or before August 10.
• Notification: Successful applicants will be notified by email in late September.
