ACADEMIC MERIT ADMISSION AWARDS

General Information and Policies

·Academic Merit Admission Awards are offered to students entering their first year of undergraduate post-secondary studies, who will be admitted to the University of Calgary on the basis of their high school grades.

·Students MUST apply for admission in order to be considered.

·Students will be automatically considered for these awards based on their early admission average from their admission application, with the offer being conditional on their final admission average. No separate application is required.

·Students entering the University of Calgary with a final admission average of 80.0% and above are guaranteed an award of $500. All qualified high school applicants will be notified of this award in their offer of admission. The award will be confirmed once the final admission average is determined.

·Admission Awards offered by specific faculties are offered to eligible students in addition to the University of Calgary Academic Merit Admission Awards.

·Students may receive these awards in addition to any other awards they may receive to a cap as established by the Academic Awards Committee.

·These awards are one-time only and not renewable.

·Awards are open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students.

·Students must be entering a Fall Session at the University of Calgary.

·Students offered an Academic Merit Admission Award must be registered full time in the upcoming Fall and Winter Sessions to receive award payment. Award payments will then be applied to Fall tuition. Award recipients must maintain full-time status in both Fall and Winter Sessions to be eligible for the full amount of their award.
