Poem of the Season in hiatus until Autumn 2017. The next poem entry deadline will be posted here at that time.
Poem of the Season accepts submissions from current University of Calgary students at any time.
Send your submission via email to Melanie Boyd at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: Poem of the Season.
In the body of the e-mail, include your name, mailing address, phone number, student number, department or faculty, and anticipated graduation date.
You may submit up to six previously unpublished poems in one email. Send each poem as a separate attachment in .doc, .docx or .rtf format.
Each poem must fit easily on an 8.5 x 11 page (or less).
You will not receive a response to your submission unless it is selected for publication.
Publication and Prize
Each Poem of the Season will be published in full colour 11x17 poster format and displayed on the University of Calgary campus for 3 – 6 months.
The winner will receive five copies of the poster, one of which will be mounted for display.
Copyright for the poem remains with the poet.
Poem of the Season posters will also be published in .pdf format on the Poem of the Season website, with a link to web-searchable University of Calgary DSpace (digital repository).
Winning poets will submit a brief biography for the poster, and a photo and longer biography for the website.
