Citizen Consultations on Plant Molecular Farming

Pharming the Future is a unique project which seeks to involve Canadians in a dialogue about the future of plant molecular farming. In two separate consultations, citizens across Canada will be asked to debate the social, ethical, environmental and regulatory aspects of this relatively new industry.

Panelists engaged in the face-to-face consultation will speak with experts and dialogue with each other. Citizens taking part in the online consultation will have the opportunity to access the opinions of experts and will also deliberate the issues with each other.

Regulations governing the commercialization of PMF are currently under review. Recommendations stemming from both consultations will be offered to policy makers engaging in the review process.
