Research in action

By Shaunna Yuzik

Driving while talking on a cell phone, neighbourhood design and climate change—they all affect our daily lives in some way. University of Calgary researchers are finding out more about these issues—and developing solutions.

At the Research in Action breakfast on Friday Nov. 3, you can learn how research and innovation enrich our lives from three of U of C’s top researchers.

sandalack
Dr. Beverly Sandalack, of the Faculty of Environmental Design’s downtown Urban Lab, believes you would be healthier and happier if you lived in a well-designed, dense, vibrant inner city community.

caird
Dr. Jeff Caird has conducted a number of driving simulation studies over the past two years on driver distraction, including research on cell phones and wireless devices.

keith
Dr. David Keith will speak on what he believes to be the most pressing environmental challenge—climate change.

The breakfast runs Friday, Nov. 3rd from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Petroleum Club’s Devonian Room.

Please RSVP by October 30 to 220-4441 or researchinaction@ucalgary.ca
