Tuition Support deadline near for summer 2013 session

UToday HomeJuly 4, 2013

Academic, Support Staff and Management and Professional Staff employees may be eligible, depending on the type of appointment held, for Tuition Support for academic credit courses taken by the employee, their spouse or their dependent children from the University of Calgary. Academic employees and their dependents may be eligible from the date of hire. Support Staff and Management and Professional Staff may be eligible after six months of continuous service in an eligible role and their eligible dependents after they have had one year of continuous service in an eligible role.

Please visit the Human Resources website, select your appropriate staff group and follow the Forms link for details of this benefit as it relates to your staff group and to obtain a copy of the pertinent Tuition Support Application.

Completed Tuition Support application forms for summer 2013 academic courses must be dropped off in the drop box outside the Fees office (MacKimmie Library Block 122), or emailed to cimbrogn@ucalgary.ca, by the session fee deadline – Friday, July 12, 2013 for summer 2013. Applications received after the fee deadline won’t receive tuition support credits for the session.

The Tuition Support remission program covers eligible tuition fees for academic credit courses only and must be approved by Human Resources before being posted to a student account. The student is responsible for the balance owing after the Tuition Support amount has been applied as well as any general fees, software, textbooks or other costs associated with registration in the course(s).

Tuition support payments will be posted roughly three weeks after the fee deadline. A payment deferral will be placed on the student account to prevent any interest charges accumulating on the student account during the processing period.
