International students are drawn to the University of Calgary from all over the word to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) immersion courses.

“Over the years, we’ve found that university staff make perfect homestay providers,” says Yassin Boga, director of the English Language Program. “We’ve had great participation from the university community in the past, and always find them to be ideal hosts for our students. We are always hopeful that more U of C staff will come onboard to provide homes.”

Homestay providers must be able to give students an English-speaking home environment, a bedroom, and three meals a day for five weeks starting July 27, Aug. 4 or 5 to Aug. 31, 2013. Homes must be located within 50 minutes of the main campus. Remuneration is provided on a per student basis.

For more information on hosting a student for five weeks this summer, (or for three-month periods in the regular fall, winter and spring sessions) please see ucalgary.ca/esl/homestay or email homestay@ucalgary.ca
