The Unforgettable Tribute mural created by the Alzheimer Society of Calgary will be on display in the Health Research Innovation Centre atrium from Jan. 7 to 11 near the On The Go coffee area.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Medicine in displaying the mural and raising awareness for the cause. We hope its presence on campus helps draw attention to some of the great work (including research) around dementia that’s being done locally,” said Barb Ferguson, executive director, Alzheimer Society of Calgary.

“Our ultimate goal is to change perceptions and create hope for those affected. If there are students, staff or faculty members interested in paying tribute to a loved one (living or deceased), we encourage you to contact us.”

The mural is comprised of photo and text submissions from affected families from all walks of life, and features athletes, scientists, choir singers, coaches, artists, teachers and even two former Calgary mayors.

The mural will also be on display throughout the month of January in other locations around Calgary, including City Hall.
