University mourns loss of senior instructor Margo Husby

Margo Husby, PhD, was a senior instructor in the Department of Communication and Culture.Margo Husby, PhD, was a senior instructor in the Department of Communication and Culture.The university was saddened to learn of the death of Margo Husby, PhD, a senior instructor in the Department of Communication and Culture, who died on Wednesday, Feb. 13 after a short illness.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church for Husby, a long-serving and valued faculty member. An on-campus memorial service is being planned for a later date.

We are saddened by the loss and extend our thoughts and sympathies to her family. Husby was an inspired teacher and friend to everyone in the communication and culture department and the arts faculty.

Husby began as a mature student in the undergraduate Communications Studies program, and went on to complete a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Calgary.

A strong believer in lifelong learning, Husby was near completion of a fourth degree, a Master of Social Work, at the time of her death. She will be much missed by colleagues, students and alumni.
