University of Calgary Transgenic Services

ABOUT US:

Transgenic Services is part of the Clara Christie Centre for Mouse Genomics. We are funded by a combination of IOF funds and fee-for-service revenue.  The facility was originally established in 1996 as the ESTM (Embryonic Stem Cell Targeted Mutagenesis) Facility under the direction of Dr. Derrick Rancourt.  Transgenic Services operates in close concert with Embryonic Stem (ES) Cell Services.

We offer comprehensive transgenic services for University of Calgary investigators, as well as, provincial and international collaborators.  Previous clients include investigators from Dalhousie University, University of Alberta and University of Toronto.  We operate under the direction of Dr. Frank Jirik who previously directed the Transgenic Facility at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT) in Vancouver.
