The Women of Distinction Awards were established by the YWCA in 1979 and for the first three years were known as the Women Celebrate Women Awards. Awards are given in nine categories and "recognize women from Calgary and area who, through initiative, ability and effort, have made an exemplary contribution to society".
File consists of letters and curriculum vitae supporting the 1988 nomination of A. van Herk for the Women of Distinction Award, Arts and Culture category; videocassette recording the Awards ceremony, May 1988; and Women of Distinction Awards and Dinner brochure, May 5, 1992, which lists 1992 nominees in all categories and Award winners from 1979 to 1991.
Donated by YWCA in 1988 and 1993.
