The Richard Johnston Canadian Music Archives Collection
In order to document and preserve the historical development of our
Canadian musical heritage, the University of Calgary Library, Special
Collections, is actively acquiring the personal papers and business
records of Canadian composers, musicians, music educators and music societies. The collection was developed with the strong, enthusiastic and active support of Dr. Richard Johnston in whose memory and honour the collection has been named.
Focus of the Collection:
Canadian music, musicians and composers of national and/or international stature, folk music research materials by Canadians well known in the
field, and materials pertaining to the historical aspects of music
education in Canada. Many fonds and collections listed below have finding aids.
