Mandate

University Legal Services:

  • manages the legal affairs of the University and provides or coordinates the delivery of legal services on behalf of the institution;
  • represents the University in all legal matters including litigation and administrative hearings;
  • provides legal advice and opinions to the University as appropriate on all legal matters including but not limited to policies and procedures, business and commercial contracts, human resource matters, intellectual property matters and other items of a like nature;
  • oversees the University's compliance with applicable law, regulations, and policies;
  • manages the University's compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act; and
  • coordinates the development of University policies and procedures.
