Once a research appointment has been hired it may be necessary to make changes to that appointment over time. Changes may include, extending the appointment, changing the funding source or updating a reporting relationship. The processes for changing a research appointment are reviewed next.
In general, research appointments are term appointments that end automatically on an end-date identified at the time of hire; but the processes to end an appointment prior to its expected end date are different depending on the reason it is ending.
