Dave Curran - Biography

PhD Student
Supervisor:  Dr. Wasmuth and Dr. Gilleard


Beginning in September 2012, Dave is a PhD student working under co-supervisors, Dr. Wasmuth and Dr. Gilleard in the Department of Ecosystems and Public Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary. Prior to this Dave obtained his Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) and a Master of Science both from the University of Calgary.

Dave is currently working on his PhD project titled, “"Analysis of gene families involved in drug metabolism from the genome of the parasitic nematode Haemonchus contortus. He is currently funded by NSERC CREATE HPI. Among his many awards is a Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship.

Dave’s latest publication is an article titled, "The genome and transcriptome of Haemonchus contortus, a key model parasite for drug and vaccine discovery." from the journal Genome Biology.
