Equine Respiratory Lab

Our lab have research program on inflammatory lung diseases like heaves and IAD (Inflammatory Airway Disease) as well as specializing in equine sports medicine with a focus on cardio-respiratory physiology. We have performed many clinical trials and field studies in Calgary, Alberta on the treatment of heaves, IAD and exercise physiology of show jumpers and chuckwagon horses. 

Our chief investigator Renaud Léguillette is currently the Calgary Chair in Equine Medicine and a professor of Equine Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM). Dr. Léguillette is also practicing as a UCVM equine internal medicine specialist at Moore Equine in Balzac, Alberta.
