It's icy out there! Practice safe walking and report a snow and ice problem on campus

Facilities crews do their best to clear snow and ice as quickly as possible, but you may still find some slippery areas as you make your way across campus. Take the time to review some safety tips to prevent slips and falls on snow and ice:

  • Avoid using shortcuts and self-made paths
  • Wear appropriate winter footwear
  • Take small steps to keep your center of balance under you
  • Walk with extra care on wet or slippery surfaces
  • Use handrails from start to finish

Please practice safe walking and driving this winter, and report a snow or ice problem to Facilities online, by email or by calling the Customer Care Centre at 403.220.7555 (M-F, 8 am to 4:30 pm) or Campus Security after hours at 403.220.5333. Snow and ice info sheet

Facilities' Customer Care Centre is the first point of contact for all of your facilities needs.  Whether you have a leaky faucet, an electrical problem, a cold classroom or need a renovation, our staff will evaluate your service request and determine how to best meet your needs.  For all your facilities questions and concerns, contact our Customer Care Centre.

Please have the following information available when making a request: 

  • Your departmental PeopleSoft account code where the work will be charged (if charges are necessary). 
  • The room number – not just the room name – of the space needing service. 
  • Your contact information (name, phone number and main department or unit phone number). 
  • An estimate of the situation’s urgency and how long the problem has persisted.

Three Options for Requesting a Service, Renovation, Status or for Information:

On the Web:
You can place your work order request online by through the ARCHIBUS work request system  (click on the icon below to go to the log-in screen).

By Phone:
Contact the Customer Care Center at 403-220-7555. Our Customer Care Representatives will discuss your request, enter the work order into the system and provide you with a work request number so you can follow up on your request.

By Email:
Contact the Customer Care Center by emailing them at myfacilities@ucalgary.ca. Our Customer Care Representatives will respond to your request, and provide you with a work request number so you can follow up on your request.

Note: First-time users should read through the outline of instructions before placing a request. You will need a University of Calgary user name and password to make a work request.  If you do not know your name and password, please contact the UCIT Help Desk (403-220-5555). After placing your request, you will receive a work request number to reference when contacting the Customer Care Centre in regards to the issue identified.

Our Customer Care Centre is available to help you Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
