You are invited to join the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, in partnership with the Institute for Liberal Studies, for a keynote presentation that explores the absence of economic freedom in Africa and how entrepreneurship can help fuel an economy, through the workings of Magatte Wade, founder and CEO of Tiossan.
Wade, a self-professed African serial entrepreneur, will delve into key strategies for creating economic growth in challenging climates and how North America can better support African entrepreneurs and the cause of economic freedom in Africa. She is a frequent speaker at business conferences and college campuses, including Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, MIT, Wharton and Babson, and we are honoured to have her present to our UCalgary community.
Wade was named a Young Global Leader by the Davos Economic Forum and one of the 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa by Forbes in 2011. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field, Wade is passionate about entrepreneurship and creating high-end retail brands based on diverse African traditions that change the perception of Africa.
