16 Days of Activism

16 Days of Activism

Every year, between International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on Nov. 25 and International Human Rights Day on Dec. 10, communities around the world participate in the 16 Days of Activism.

The Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) will be hosting a number of workshops and events to promote activism and education in our communities. Events include ‘Immigrant Women and Intimate Partner Violence’ on Dec. 1 from 2:30-3:30, and the ‘I Believe You’ Information session, which focuses on de-stigmatization and teaching people how to respond effectively to disclosures of sexual assault on Dec. 3 from 2-3:30. Both events will be held in the WRC. As well, candles made by members of the University community are available until Dec. 3 for purchase. Proceeds go to support programming at the WRC.

We invite you to join us in the Rosza Centre from 12-1 to hear Dr. Dru Marshall talk about the University’s commitment prevent violence against women on campus, and keynote speaker Dr. Pam Palmater on how we can work to end violence against women and girls, and in particular violence against indigenous communities.
