Subversion and Git are version control systems used and supported by the department.
Subversion (SVN) is installed on all our Linux and Windows workstations and compute servers. We also host SVN repositories created by request from our subversion server.
To have a new repository created for a new project, please contact us with the following information:
- Repository name
- The course or research group used by the repository
- Optionally, a list of other collaborators
The Git software package is installed on all our Linux and Windows workstations and compute servers. In addition, the department maintains a Gitlab installation that is accessible by anyone with a CPSC account that allows users to collaborate with other users.
To create a new git repository for your individual or group project, visit https://gitlab.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/ and log in using your CPSC credentials.
