We are seeking a full time Inclusion Support Worker to work six hours during the day, Monday through Friday. This could also be two part-time positions for two people to work either two or three six hour days per week.
This person will be responsible for providing personal support to an individual with a developmental disability and for facilitating the individual’s activities as a valued, contributing member of the community. Guided by goals and objectives determined in collaboration and consultation with the individual and her family, the Inclusion Support Worker will be responsible for supporting the development of skills and competencies that will assist the individual to pursue and fulfill their goals and in work, community and occasionally in home settings.
The ideal candidate will possess:
➢ a firm belief and commitment to inclusion, the right for all people to belong, participate and contribute to the community.
➢ the ability to work independently in unstructured environments and to employ effective time management skills
➢ excellent coaching skills , the knowledge of and ability to demonstrate and support the development of skills as they relate to managing social and work life and a home.
➢ their own reliable vehicle
➢ knowledge of community resources relevant persons participation and inclusion within their community
➢ experience and skill working with children or adults with challenging behaviours
➢ First Aid and Criminal record check
