On June 6, 2011 successfully defended her PhD thesis titled "The Determinants of Childhood Weight Status in Canadian Boys and Girls" on June 6, 2011 at 1:30pm. Melissa's supervisor and co-supervisor are Drs. Lynn Meadows and Lindsay McLaren respectively.
