Supporting Documents

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, regardless of whether or not degrees completed/conferred are required. Applicants in program must submit transcripts to date.  Admitted students will be required to submit official transcripts showing degree conferred prior to first registration in the graduate program.  If the degree will not be conferred until after the start of the graduate program, students must request a letter from that institution, sent to this office, stating all degree requirements have been met and date of convocation.

‘Official' means transcripts received in this office in the original unopened sealed envelopes as issued by the institution.  Photocopies or transcripts not received in sealed envelopes are not official.  For institutions issuing only one original transcript directly to student, that student should request that the degree-granting institution certify a photocopy and forward that copy directly to this office in a sealed envelope.  This request should be done by registered mail with a copy of the letter and receipt forwarded to this office.

Two References

Upon filling out the online application form, you must enter two referees and their contact information. When you submit your application, an email will automatically be sent to your referees (at the email address you provided) with a link to our online reference form.  The referee will then fill out the form portion and attach a reference letter at the end.  Please note that we only accept institutional and official email addresses – absolutely no references from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and other email servers will be accepted.

An appropriate letter of recommendation is one written by an individual who can provide an assessment of the applicant's background and capabilities with respect to our department.  An applicant currently registered in a graduate degree program, or who has recently completed a graduate degree program, must submit one letter of reference from his/her program supervisor.

Application Review:

You must complete the following items before the Application Deadline in order to have your application considered:

  1. Submit the Graduate Studies on-line application and all application fees paid
  2. All official transcripts and degree certificates (if required) must be received by the office
  3. Both online reference forms must be completed
  4. English Language Proficiency Test results (if applicable) received by the office
