Mission Statement

The primary goal of those associated with the University of Calgary Driving Simulator (UCDS) will be to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries through the creation and dissemination of basic and applied knowledge.

Completed projects in transportation Human Factors include:

  • How do younger and older drivers perform at complex intersections?
  • Distraction and how it relates to passengers.
  • Highway-railway grade crossing safety.
  • Evaluation of intelligent transportation system (ITS) technologies.

Completed projects in medical Human Factors include:

  • Drug errors in anesthesiology.
  • Usability analysis of 3different IV pumps.
