Biometric Technologies Laboratory
Modeling and Simulation
The Biometric Technologies Laboratory (BT Lab) is a research facility affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Schulich School of Engineering, and the Department of Computer Science (CS), Faculty of Sciences.
It has been created in 2003 with the funding support of Canadian Foundation for Innovations, matching funds from the Government of Alberta, Faculty of Sciences, and the both affiliating Departments (ECE and CS).
The BT Lab research focus is modeling and simulation of biometrics. Biometrics are humans' physiological characteristics (facial image, iris or retina pattern, thermal image of the body, fingerprint, hand and foot print, ear, odor) and behavioral characteristics (voice pattern, handwritten signature, keystroke pattern, gait, mouse usage dynamics).
