Who We Are
The mandate of the UC-AWA is to advance academic women’s career development from earliest stages to post-career, through advocacy and raising awareness of women’s issues in collaboration with other equity associations on campus.
The UC-AWA recognizes all individuals who self-identify as women. We define “academic” according to the University of Calgary’s Collective Agreement: professors, instructors, lecturers, librarians, archivists, curators, and counselors (continuing, contingent, limited term, sessional/term certain appointments, as well as retired and emeritus). We also represent post-doctoral fellows and graduate students.
