Welcome to the Calgary COPD & Asthma Program website!

The Calgary COPD and Asthma Program is an Alberta Health Services program.  We are a team of certified respiratory educators and respirologists.  We strive to be a leading centre in Canada working with patients and other health care professionals in treating asthma, COPD, tobacco reduction and chronic cough.  We have created this website to:

  • share medically accurate information with patients and health care providers
  • encourage patients to work with their health care providers in following Canadian guidelines to gain maximum control of their respiratory condition

Mission:  To improve the lives of those affected by asthma, COPD, tobacco and chronic cough by providing lung health care and leadership through education and self-management skills."

Did you know....

...historically, men have been more likely than women to receive a diagnosis of emphysema (COPD). However, in 2011 more women reported a diagnosis of emphysema than men.
