The Alberta Global Forum is a community-based centre led by the University of Calgary's Faculty of Communication and Culture. It is a meeting place for community leaders, citizens and students and a vital catalyst for discussion on issues that affect Alberta. The Alberta Global Forum examines local, national and international issues including: the challenges created by unprecedented growth, Alberta's place in the Canadian family, the province's relationship with the United States and Alberta's connections with the Pacific Rim and elsewhere overseas. Alberta Global Forum welcomes inaugural board

Research

In partnership with the Sheldon Chumir Foundation, the Calgary Foundation, and Calgary Counseling Services, the Alberta Global Forum has undertaken a community research project to take the pulse of everyday Calgarians in the face of the current global economic crisis. The AGF and its partners are conducted focus groups with Calgarians from all walks of life; from the homeless, new immigrants, and seniors, the unemployed, students, and CEOs. >> more

In conjunction with the How Canadians Communicate Politically conference, the Alberta Global Forum hosted a panel discussion at the University of Calgary.

Panelists included:  Florian Sauvageau, Tamara Small, Shannon Sampert and Christopher Waddell.
