Application for Early Admission - CHECKLIST:

The benefit of Early Admission is that applicants will be notified of their admission status well in advance to make preparations for fall attendance. If you wish to be considered for Early Admission, please complete the following procedures:

  • Submit the Application for Admission and Application Fee by the required deadline date.
  • Ensure the following necessary supporting documents are forwarded to the Admissions Office by the necessary deadline date. This includes the selection of a second program choice.

For students currently attending high school:

    • Complete high school course information on application form.

NOTE: If you've already submitted your application, you can still be considered for an Early Admission offer.  Update your course and grade information no later than April 1st (for applicants to Business, Engineering, Medicine (BHSC) and Nursing) or May 1st (for all other programs)  by logging back on to the myUofC portal using the eID and password you created for your application.  Click on "Apply for Undergraduate Admission".  Make sure to click "Submit Your Changes" when you are done!

    For all other students:

    • Arrange for a copy of your high school transcript (not required for Master of Teaching/BEd degree program applicants).
    • Arrange for a copy of your  transcript from each post-secondary institution attended including a transcript from your current institution which shows final grades awarded for courses completed up to and including Fall session 2009, and if you are currently attending a post-secondary institution indicate on the Application for Admission the courses you are currently completing in the Winter semester.
    • Check to see if there are any other requirements for your requested program of study to ensure that they will be satisfied by the specified deadline dates.

Upon receipt of the above, your application will be considered for Early Admission and a decision will be conveyed to you in writing. For more information, please see After You Apply .

Regular Competitive Admission - CHECKLIST:

The denial of Early Admission does not rule out the possibility of gaining admission to the University of Calgary later in spring or summer. Regular Competitive Admission for students residing in Canada or the USA is granted upon receipt of official supporting documentation and satisfying all admission requirements by April 15 (Master of Teaching/BEd degree Applicants ), June 30th (all other Transfer Applicants) or August 1st (High School Applicants). This includes official transcripts of final grades, English Language Proficiency results and if applicable other outstanding documents.

If you wish to be considered for Regular Competitive Admission, you must:

Complete the Application for admission by April 1st (for Business, Education, Engineering, Medicine (BHSc) and Nursing) or May 1. Note that the deadline for international students to apply is February 1st (as applicable).

Arrange to have official transcripts of final grades sent to the Admissions Office from each institution attended. Official transcripts are ones that are sent directly from your high schools or post-secondary institutions attended to the Recruitment and Admissions Office. Please note:

  • Applicants to the Master of Teaching/BEd degree program are not required to submit high school transcripts.
  • Applicants who have attended post-secondary institutions outside Canada may be requested to provide course outlines for assessment.
  • Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by notarized English translations.
