The University of Calgary Health & Recreation Centre, Fitness Centre offers many programs and services designed to encourage healthy participation in a variety of activities. The goal for the Fitness Centre is to provide an opportunity for participants to improve or maintain their health and vitality through a variety of activities and programs. Access to the Fitness Centre is included in both the All Access and Fitness Centre membership options.
The physical facility offers members 3750m 2 of space with an excellent range of fitness equipment. Well trained, certified staff are available to assist the participant in becoming familiar with the facility. A circuit training system is also available providing a full workout in a short period of time. An orientation is required to use the super circuit. Following your orientation you'll be given a shoe tag indicating that you know how to use the equipment. The orientation costs $2, or for $20 you can receive a more extensive training session.
FREE Gym Orientations
Never been to the Fitness Centre but want to see what it’s all about, or thinking about beginning an exercise program but don’t know where to start?
Come to our FREE gym orientation for students and we will help you get on track! A highly qualified Personal Trainer will guide you through the gym and teach you how to use various machines, and demonstrate some common exercises. We will also give you guidelines on how to design a workout of your own.
